The World Small Animal Veterinary Association's Therapeutic Guidelines Group (TGG) is to host a free webinar for vets on 'how to optimise your antibiotic use'.
Taking place during this year's World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (18-24 November), the webinar aims to support members in the effective and responsible use of antibiotics. Speakers include:
Dr Luca Guardabassi - TGG co-chair and professor of One Health AMR at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark - who will explore why some MRSP infections can be treated successfully with cephalexin.
Dr Anette Loeffler - associate professor of veterinary dermatology at the Royal Veterinary College - who will deliver a session entitled ‘Canine superficial pyoderma: Yes, topical antibacterial therapy can work on its own!’
Dr Lisbeth Rem Jessen - associate professor of companion animal internal medicine at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark - will discuss canine acute diarrhea and when antibiotic treatment is needed.
Dr Fergus Allerto - European veterinary specialist in small animal internal medicine, Willows Veterinary Centre - who will explore stewardship initiatives to engage the missing stakeholder (the pet owner).
