Registered Veterinary Nurse – Swadlincote, South Derbyshire

Bright Side Vets is seeking a veterinary nurse to join its family-run, independent small animal practice based in the heart of the National Forest. The successful candidate will work alongside an amazing team that prides itself on high clinical standards and excellence in customer service.

It’s a given that nurses are allowed to be nurses and use the skills they have trained for, which also means that where it makes sense for RVNs to be doing schedule 3 procedures, the practice actively encourages them to do so.

Whether you are recently qualified or have experience, the team is supportive of training and development. The package includes a salary dependent on experience but no OOH and from 1 in 4 weekend rota, a wide range of benefits, a CPD budget and 28 days of annual leave, including bank holidays.

Bright Side Vets strives to be dynamic and different, and that even applies to its interview technique! The practice wishes to employ someone who shares its values. Curious what they might be? Visit brightsidevets.com or email emma@brightsidevets.com

  • Laura Muir wins gold at Commonwealth Games
Blog SpotVeterinary surgeon and Olympic silver-medalist Laura Muir scooped the gold medal in the 1500m final Commonwealth Games on Sunday.

Winning Scotland's 12th title of the games, Muir finished in four minutes 2.75 seconds, collecting her second medal in 24 hours.

Dr Muir commented on her win: "I just thought my strength is in my kick and I just tried to trust it and hope nobody would catch me. I ran as hard as I could to the line.

"It is so nice to come here and not just get one medal but two and in such a competitive field. Those girls are fast. It means a lot."
