This presentation covers how to recognize and assist a patient with cardiac disease. Often these patients are highly stressed and so appropriate nursing care is paramount. Topics included are:

  • Recognising patient with potential or worsening cardiac disease
  • How, when and why to perform blood pressure monitoring
  • Auscultation
  • Medications used
  • Recognising cardiac emergencies
  • Anaesthesia monitoring for patients with cardiac disease
