Vet Nursing Events

Atopic Dermatitis

Atopic dermatitis is a common cause of pruritus and dermatitis in dogs (cAD). Unfortunately cAD is a lifelong problem and patients are therefore frequent visitors to the surgery. This can ultimately build close bonds between the owner and the veterinary practice; however it may also lead to client frustration so good client communication is paramount. Furthermore due to the chronic and recurrent nature of the disease, investigation and management programs are prolonged and time consuming. This is where the nurse’s role can be vital in supporting both the client and the vet and the evening will cover this.
